Camera Placement Guidelines

To achieve optimal results, mount the camera:

  • High along the paystation pillar, angled downward to frame the customer and employee interaction zone
  • Ensure the camera has unobstructed line of sight to the customer’s vehicle window or speaker box
  • Avoid glare, reflective surfaces, or obstructions like signs or posts
Best Practice: Use a camera with a built-in mic only if the audio is consistently clear. For noisy environments, use an external mic.

External Mic Wiring & Deployment

Option 1: Turret Cameras

Refer to the diagram below for connecting an external microphone to your camera system:

External Mic Configuration (Turret)

Deployment Instructions:

  1. Connect the PoE Splitter. Plug the Ethernet cable (from your network or NVR) into the PoE Splitter Ethernet In. The splitter now provides Power + Data to connected devices.
  2. Connect the PoE Splitter to the Turret Camera. From the PoE Splitter, connect: Ethernet Out → Camera Ethernet Port & Power Out → Camera Power Input
  3. Connect the PoE Splitter to the 60ft Cable. Plug the Power Out from the PoE Splitter into the Power In of the 60ft Extension Cable.
  4. Connect the 60ft Cable to the Microphone. From the 60ft Cable, connect: Power Out → Mic Power Input & Audio Out → Mic Audio Input
  5. Connect the 60ft Cable to the Camera (for audio). From the 60ft Cable, connect: Audio In → Camera Audio In (using the RCA to 3.5mm converter if needed)

Option 2: Fisheye Cameras

External Mic Configuration (Fisheye)

Deployment Instructions:

  1. Connect the PoE Splitter to your PoE Switch using an Ethernet cable.
  2. The splitter will break out into three connections:
  • Power → Connect to the camera’s power input
  • Ethernet → Connect to the camera’s Ethernet port
  1. Connect the external mic to the Audio In port**** on the camera
  2. Ensure the Audio Out (if unused) remains safely covered or terminated
  3. Mount the external mic securely near the customer interaction area

Microphone Placement Guidelines

SalesCoach requires high-quality audio to properly score pitches. For best performance:

If using external mic:

  • Mount near the speaker box, intercom, or customer window
  • Mount inside the paystation canopy when possible
  • Connect the mic to your IP camera or NVR using a supported audio input
Wind noise, engine sounds, and music can interfere with transcription. Position carefully.
